Can't we do something?

Well the author already tweeted that they 'finished' the last chapter

I suppose their next series, unless they're taking a break, ppl can donate? IDK if the 'points' sites would apply to foreigners other than buying a copy in JP versus it being picked up by eng publishers

(i've seen webtoons do fairly well and don't rly hear about prints but korea might be diff/a lot are based on webnovels too so that might also be diff

Tho other than some copyright/character rights/issues or so, maybe they'll be able to make some kinda 'sequel' some day or so since some authors series do have 'shared universes' and such)

Last chapter is 27 btw

ngl haven't been this tilted about an axing since Cocktail Knights
As much as i love the 27 number, i really don't wanna see this series to end yet.

But then again it's kinda hard to maintain this kind of story to be always fresh and entertaining. I'm expecting that this series will ended up after 50ish chapters at last.

But after seeing their current chapters, i noticed that this series getting a bunch of downgrade in quality. Don't get me wrong, the quality of story is still there but the quality of the drawing is totally a mess. Well it's not like it has the best drawing in the first place, but compared to when it was first released you'll notice it.

So yeah, i don't really surprised to see this series getting axed, but I'm really hoping that this mangaka make another banger series in the future. Because i really love the way they telling story and the atmosphere of their drawing.

Even if it’s due to poor sales, the series already kinda felt like it was approaching a conclusion. I’m actually getting pretty tired of things getting stretched out for hundreds of chapters and am appreciating short and sweet more.

Wait is Bugle Call really doing poorly?? That's fucked. It's one of the few new ones that I think is genuinely good
Thanks for making me aware of a new (for me), promising series. That being said, it looks like that series gets into its 10th volume, while this one will finish with four or thereabouts. I think that’s a reasonable number of volumes given the context; might have been able to extend it to eight, but I’d rather have a succinct series that might have been extended a bit than one that progresses little and drags on (glances at Komi…)

Thanks for the chapter!

This getting axed is definitely sad, I really enjoyed the slow pace of the story and the soft lines of the art, and I was waiting to get more context about them and their situation little by little, but I guess we will never know...

Why is it always the good ones and not the dozens of isekai clones about a powerful guy wanting a quiet life with 50 women at his beckon call
there's dozens of those because they sell
unique things are unique because they don't sell :notlikethis:

oh fuck really? was it at least a confirmed axe? cus I can see this manga being planned as a short story, idk how we were doing in sales
edit:nvm I didn't read the rest of the thread lmao
It was a one-shot first and win some competition, then it get serialized. It's good, I really like it but I can see why people don't really like this serialized. sometimes I feel that it fits short story form better than 100 chapters series

Not everything needs 100+ chapters. A short, fleshed-out story with a remarkable ending is much better than some series that got dragged out so much that it starts to collect a huge pile of turd on the way.

Eggcorn spotted! The phrase is actually "beck and call"
I thought it was beck and call but I googled it to double check and must have seen beckon call without reading 'is the incorrect spelling', oopsie. Changed it anywho.

True, but make it at least 40 if we are still this lost, it needs setup, right now within 5 chapters (plus volume extra maybe) we need to at least:
1) Establish what caused this
2) Did it affect only them?
3) Why them?
4) Were they both stuck in the timeloop since the beginning?
5) Can they go back to a normal life? How has this affected them?
6) Are they in love?

Just to give some context to the people, according to the Shoseki Ranking, the volume sales were disastrous.

Volume 1 performed poorly, but at least it managed to barely cling to the weekly ranking, scraping into the 488th spot out of 500. Based on that, we can estimate it sold around 1,262 copies in its first week—a figure that’s nothing short of disheartening. After that initial week, it vanished entirely from the daily rankings, never to be seen again.

Volume 2’s sales are nothing short of a tragedy. On its release day (November 20, 2024), it debuted at 184th place on the daily chart. The catch with daily rankings, though, is that they don’t provide estimated sales figures, leaving us in the dark about how many copies actually sold. By the second day (November 21), it plummeted to 417th, and on the third day (November 22), it saw a slight uptick to 389th. After that, it completely disappeared from the rankings, never to return.

Given these abysmal numbers, it’s no surprise the publisher likely took one look at Volume 2’s performance and decided it wasn’t worth continuing the series.
Dam that’s unfortunate; I was planning on buying the volumes but had I known that was the case I would’ve done so sooner (though that wouldn’t have helped)

Cocktail Knight and Necromante hurt my soul to the core when they got axed, the author from necromante at least followed up with an even greater work, but cocktail still hurts
