I hope Shouta's relationship with his neighbor is more normal though. Seems like she may be more stable.

The pain of the child was captured well enough to immerse you in. You are older and now have the ability to see how many ways adults can harm kids. Possibly similar pain points as the boys?

I knew his name was "Shouta" for a reason!

What if she and her husband are unable to have a child? She's taken an interest on Shouta having a family, perhaps she is struggling to make her own. So what if she becomes a "predator" for maternal reasons and not like the erotic way Naruko does?

This is like when author's run out of plot and start showcasing a side-ship. Except this manga is so much better than that and still has lots of fuel.

I doubt that's possible. The spooking part. She's an addict. They are willing to go to any length to feed their addiction, unable to think of anything else, never looking back. She's probably already planning to blackmail Naruko to squeeze money out of her, due to Naruko's interest in Naoto. Fortunately Naruko herself is crazy, so I doubt a mere addict can compare to her methods and determination.
