Because a new guy showing up trying to sleep with the FL is done to death. This guy is also not really interested in her, so I'm really just rooting for him to find a different love interest.

It'd be great if this were a family member and not someone meant to force the ML into "not not noticing" the FL, but.
There is a meta-contextual precedent for this genre of story, and thus people are responding accordingly based on those established patterns across the medium.

ohh yeah no, that I agree with.

I didn't look closely enough at what the others were saying, just figured it was more "guy who isn't ML shows up for one panel = manga becomes a love triangle".

Jumping straight to NTR just sounds like some readers are spending too much time in certain parts of the Internet, to me.
