It's a Japanese conformity thing. They even make natural blondes dye their hair to black sometimes. Though after some high profile lawsuits, they have been toning down these outdated habits.

Yeah, I know there's another series with a character who has natural light colored hair who's bullied and tormented into dying it black, including a teacher basically saying "well if you didn't stand out they wouldn't pick on you. So really it's your own fault for having hair like that" Don't remember the name but it wouldn't surprise me if I outline this plot event and people come up with a half-dozen different series that could fit the description.

and it is dumb. I understand wanting social harmony, but there's a difference between pressuring differences that actively disrupt the peace and just getting angry at someone for daring to have a different aspect about them even if its' totally benign and especially if they can't control it.

Well, I'll just assume Kento had the condom ready because he was that sure of himself and not Chia although we know she's not the example of onee-san someone should have. Just look when and why she confessed about kissing him while he was asleep. I didn't even expect her to confess that and would just keep doing it even after getting together... but it looks like she'll actually do it anyway. As much I kinda agree with the reasons Chia reverted back to black hair, I won't complain on her wearing glasses regularly now. But even of this story has so many wrong stuff about dealing with mental health problems, I'm glad it worked in the end for both of them and hopefully, Chia keeps being her mother-in-law's drinking buddy and still close to Chie and everyone is happy in the end.
