There's always the web novel. 266 chapters are translated, though I think the person/group translating stopped since it hasn't been updated since July 2021. Still though, something to read if you'd like to see how their story progresses

As someone who has cut into a hand witha Santoku blade I can assure you, they go deep. But I agree with people this is real slow pace, at this rate this series will be axe-kuned. Also I dunno why he's hiding being friends with his neighbour, seems kinda pointless for drama sake.

I believe the web novel actually stopped receiving updates from the Author. They said they wanted to focus on the LN, which has some changes from the WN.

The LN hasn't caught up to the WN just yet, but there were some changes in removing some repetitive monologues and some scenes.

Volumes 1-4 have official English and there's proofread MTL up to volume 7.
