There's always the web novel. 266 chapters are translated, though I think the person/group translating stopped since it hasn't been updated since July 2021. Still though, something to read if you'd like to see how their story progresses

Ping hasn't stopped translating the WN, it's just that Saeki-san (the author) stopped updating the web novel to focus on the light novel, which is now on its 8th main volume and has adapted 263/266 chapters of the WN. No announcements on when she will release the 9th volume just yet.

Yeah, pretty sure he didn’t lose a digit. I don’t remember that happening in the anime. Probably just cut a bit, getting a bandage.

I will say that when I lived with my ex, she guided me on food prep and cooking, until I could take care of it myself, if I had to. And I definitely did have times where I prepped and cooked the meals myself without needing her supervision. She still basically planned the meals for us, choosing ingredients while we were out shopping and such, but I could take care of the actual making of the food myself just fine.

I don’t recall ever cutting myself, though. But we were well and fully adults by that time, so there’s that, too. Pretty sure I already had practice with a knife and respect for a blade after a childhood of being around them (my dad even had for-show samurai sword sets laying around that I admit to mucking with from time to time; they weren’t nearly as sharp as proper ones, but still didn’t want to have them rub against skin, that’s for sure, and I never did let them)
