Not even close, sadly; the anime skipped over a lot of story and scenes that built up both of the characters. Not to say that the anime did a bad job, but rushing things will always sacrifice the timeline in the story. I would recommend reading the LN; the manga seems to be following it as well, which is awesome!
edit:
The manga is still on Volume 1 of the LN which the Last episode of the anime ended on the end of Volume 4, If i were to guess would take more then 3years to reach to there... so check LN if you wanna catch up with it
To me, the anime has been covering nearly the same scenes as the manga, it's just a fair bit lighter on dialog and other details within those scenes. Been re-watching it while reading, and I can see almost every scene represented, but it's just far lighter on the specifics
within those scenes. Or, if a scene is skipped, vital parts of its dialog is migrated to a nearby scene to help with the flow. Or, in the case of Itsuki talking about his dad vs Chitose issues (way back at the start of Ch.4), I know for a fact it ended up somewhere else in the series, which is fine since it seemed like a low-profile detail to bring up early, anyway - it was far more important to have certain dialogs between the main pair.
It's not great, and I certainly also prefer the manga for giving more context, but I still enjoyed the anime for introducing these characters and making it feel like a slow-burn while having a single-season pace, at least to me. I feel like it gets too much flak for managing to squeeze most of the scenes and major conversations in, at least up to this chapter's point in the narrative that I can confirm at this point, and only dropping some dialog that helps with context for things. (I will admit some of the extra dialog seen in the manga almost feels like laboring a point compared to the equivalent scene in the anime, to me- like it exists for people who have a hard time grasping subtleties)
Obviously, I can't speak to how either the manga or the anime stay faithful to the LN, but I just note I don't think the anime did all that bad in comparison to what the manga is bringing, so far. I've seen nearly every major moment and conversation up through Ch.10 in the manga represented in the first three Episodes of the anime, myself. And the first part of Ep4 seems to be doing alright for Ch.11 so far. But, again, it's lighter on the 'details', and those are certainly appreciated in the manga.
I'll also note the manga doesn't show him actually enjoying the food this chapter, but the anime does.
