And thus concludes the first ten minutes of Episode 4. Hahaha... Unlike others, I think the anime has done a decent-enough job up to this point in the narrative. I mean, sure, there's some dropped details within conversations and a major reduction in Amane's internal monologues, but I feel like it's represented the bulk of the moments that the manga is adapting so far well enough.
A chunk of the extra dialog in conversations here feels like it's taking a sledgehammer to audience retention on certain details. Though, at other points, it feels like the anime is too light with those details to the point most viewers probably miss the cues. But it still has pretty much all of the diabetes-inducing moments, I feel. They're just stronger in the manga.
There's also stuff like how the anime actually showed Amane enjoying the meal this chapter (the whole chapter, not just this part) instead of just jumping straight to them having finished and just sitting on the couch in the manga. In fact, I actually liked the fact that this conversation was had while Amane was still busy dealing with the dishes- it felt more natural that way, to be honest.
Overall, I still like the manga more, I'd say, but the anime certainly has had some stand-out moments that just make it flow better for me.
