Anime skips so many details that some LN readers might find it too fast-paced. So mangas like this is like a perfect middle ground
Ahh I see... I haven't watched the anime, only the manga here... Was interested with the novel but currently I'm reading something else so the next queue will be this...
Yeah... I started with the anime and that got me interested enough to check the manga here. And now I'm reading the manga while re-watching the anime and noting that, so far, at least, the anime has a lot of the same moments or conversations as the manga has adapted, with a few exceptions like everything of Ch16 except for 16.1 being completely omitted from the anime- it wasn't just reduced to a splash art 'flashback' like Mahiru making New Year's food before the countdown or the dinner with Amane's parents, it was just gone. There's also a scene back in Ch4.1 where Itsuki came over and talked about his dad issues that didn't show up in the anime, but those came up around Valentines and White Day, anyway, as well as here, so it's not a huge loss, and the conversation with Mahiru during that still happened at the end of Episode 1.
But other than those, it seems like it's been showing more or less the same moments or conversations. I'm still expecting to find whole chapters of the Manga adaptation skipped in the Anime going forward, but so far both adaptations don't feel all that off from each other. I will note that the biggest difference is Chitose isn't already waiting for them alongside Mahiru in the anime, which is a bit disappointing initially. But she does show up for the next day after an amusing phone call, so it's fine. Arguably, that makes it a bit more interesting, now that I think about it.
Though, the manga feels far more 'animated' and well put-together than the anime, on the whole, which is ironic considering the anime has actual animation.
