Way to go, Mr. Sniff! The dialogue between the maids and Henry's mother really reminds you of the difference in beliefs and such back then. I'm predicting some ways the story for Henry and Talas going something like: Talas tries to change religion and adher to "social norms" in this era of London, England for Henry so his family's gripe with the whole thing lessens.

Another possiblity could be that Henry sticks by Talas and lets her know that she doesn't have to change for him or anyone else. I feel that it could also be a mix of both for the future of the story. Either way, Henry def gonna stick by Talas's side.

Legit I was in a bad mood earlier from playing ranked games but as soon as I was about to start my last provisional to determine my rank, I saw the update and saw the first page would be about Talas and Henry, my mood immediately shot back up and my team and I ended up winning the game. Only win out of 10 ranked games so made me feel better. This couple is just amazing. I hope the author/mangaka has a happy ending for them.

Also I'm kinda worried for Talas's health? If my memory serves correctly, if this story is around mid 19th century London England, it would be right after the industrial era which could mean polluted skies. Would this pose a health risk to Talas??

Yeah, the father is like,
"Well, at least he did get a wife and he does look healthier"

but the momma be like,
"Foreign wife? what will people think"
thats actually very relatable to a lot of family in the world.

the marriage is allowed but there will contract to ensure the future child will be taught christianity.
another reason why generally people want to avoid it regardless of law. since (understandably) both side will believe their faith is the better/correct one, while the children will be the one that get confused in the middle. that and their respective family influence

the point is moot ofc when both the father and mother only in religion in name only and dont care in the slightest (for example in country where the citizen must have a religion stated in their ID).

Idk why but i thought Henry would had dumped her in England and act like he didn't know her. Glad to see he's not though.
If Henry did that, I hope that Talas's horse kick him drop dead. My girl has went through too many tragedies already. But yeah, I'm glad Henry stands by his bride like a real man.

Thanks for the update! For some odd reason i feel that there's a lot of vacant spaces in the background panels that it feels kinda weird. I wonder if something happened to Mori-sensei?
And you shouldn't say that Henry! Talas would only feel anxious if she knew she married a disappointment HAHAHA 🤣 tho i resonate so much with his last words there

I really do like them! I hope she’ll be able to get some friends here though because I’m sure it’s very isolating

As someone else said earlier, Mori-sensei is recovering from surgery.

They wouldn't be that upset.

This is a step up from him not producing any children even if it's below their expectations.
Yes, they would be actually. This is 19th century England, and putting various people in "zoos," phrenology, physiognomy, and various race sciences are ramping up at this time, and the poor are literally thought to be continually stupid and poor because they don't have the same "brain" as the rich, rather than the obvious fact that the poor don't get fair wages, are victims of malnutrition, and have no schooling whatsoever.

He's a "proper English" man who has brought home a "native" wife. The maids' gossip is completely accurate for the time—they think she's from India and that she's a Black woman. If you read "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodges Burnett, the same is said of the protagonist Mary, simply because she was born in India.

Mrs. Smith probably would've preferred he married even a poor English woman over a foreigner. English people with titles and/or money wanted to keep their bloodlines "pure," and marrying a foreign wife not from the European continent (and God forbid she be from one of the Catholic countries), is a big no-no.

Sorry Ma, but our boy Henry is going to be a Based Trad Racemixer.

Older era Muslim are allowed to marry Christian and Jews
In their terms, they are referred to them as "People of the Book" (refering to Bible and Torah) or follower of Jesus and Moses who are still acknowledged as Prophet in Islam.
Modern Islam, not so much.
It was and is still allowed to marry Jews and Christians but ONLY for Men. Women were not allowed to marry non-Muslims.

It's not like people rigidly followed Islamic law throughout history though. Polytheists like Hindus and Buddhists were never allowed to marry Muslim men and women but it happened very frequently during the varouis Muslim empires and Sultanates in India for example.

Whew, not so bad a start. I think Henry's dad is aware that they probably would have had a miserable time trying to marry him off to a 'proper' woman anyhow. I appreciate that he's being honest about the situation.

I'm glad Mori-sensei is well enough to start doing this again.

If anyone read the article, Mori-sensei actually maintains a rather healthy work-balance routine. So the sudden onset of illness that happened to her did come out of the blue.

Fortunately, she was able to recover from it. I just hope they manage to find the cause and that it doesn't get worse.

one argue in some modern cases, the marriage is allowed but there will contract to ensure the future child will be taught christianity.
To be married in some churches, one must agree that any children will be raised as members of the church's sect, and no merely as Christians of some sort.
Modern Islam, not so much.
I would not have been allowed to marry my Iraqi girl-friend in a Shi'ite mosque without becoming a Muslim pro forma. She was unhappy that I flatly refused. Her sister, BTW, had a fiance who converted, and then she jilted him. Sucks to be that guy.
