Man, Hawkins is the true Bro, and father is reasonable, he asked if he will be able to handle his living expenses, treated him with respect, agreed that he will probably be able to handle himself with the publishing money. He was probably planning to shadow-support him if needed, but was glad he had a reasonable plan.
Father is still supporting him, and fairly blatantly. "people who want to hear about Russia" indeed; how many would have publishing houses, or be connected to those who do?

Bro really just said he'll be fine if they meet before his mom passes like that isn't 30 years off still.

Thanks for the translation! Fully expected for the mother to be against the relationship, but the father is surprisingly level headed and even a bit supportive. Henry and Talas’ story gives me major Emma vibes, and I’m all here for it—hope it works out in the end for them!

Btw if you are impatient like me, the Spanish fansubs have the next chapters up to the latest (109), just search up Otoyomegatari en espanyol 108/109 or something like that—I found it through reddit

Oh, by the way, how many children will be conceived on that hunting lodge?

Talas is a intelligent woman, and with willingness to learn, no?
I wonder if this is how she will overcome her struggles, pursuing education.
I was fully expecting Talas to ask Henry to teach her some english during the travel in the ship...
Maybe that was too much to ask, but her trying to speak in a cute broken english to the family was a scene I got in my mind, and now I'm kinda sad it didn't happened.

I had forgotten about this!
Oh boys, sometimes it gets me thinking, "should I read something into this? That the 'white man' went there and got the prettiest woman of all Central Asia to chase after him? 🧐"
Seriously, I can't empathize enough how pretty Talas is, and plus, she is an interesting character. She may make up for me disappointment at Emma. Can I expect at least that Smith will share authorship of his book(s) with Talas? I see no reason why he wouldn't put some writings together with her as co-author.
At minimum she'll have copyright from the photos she took, right? She would be one of the first stepped and muslim women photographer.

Henry and Talas’ story gives me major Emma vibes, and I’m all here for it—hope it works out in the end for them!

To me is the contrary, Emma always until the end even after the marriage acted like she didn't deserved and all shy hiding like a scared little animal. Talas is just, "I'm not welcomed here, so I should work harder to make it my home". They're so different, the opposite.

Valid concerns, mom, but your son and his intended have already been through more than you can muster.

Actually, this whole series is being very tame about this. This is England at it's peak, during those times they were committing atrocious acts of violence and a bit of genocide even all over the world.
I expected worse with a cast that includes british characters. Mori toned is down a lot by having only the mother being against this marriage and she didn't allowed the characters to actually discus and say what they thought about those "savages".
Keep in mind that Henry isn't exactly normal. He's a bit of an eccentric. Add the fact that he's not the eldest son means that his family doesn't place as high of expectations on him as they would have on his brother. So they've more or less accepted his choices. At least he's not dead in some strange land, they think.

Now, if he was the eldest son, then there will have been more opposition against his relationship.
