Hah, save your comments about culture, I'm reading the same comic that you guys are... I was still hoping, and it's still a pity. Smith left the culture he grew up with, seems resistant to going back, and has invested himself in the study of other cultures. She's pretending to be dead to her family and is abandoning her culture's views on arranged marriage. They're not getting any younger, so I'm hoping they hurry up and set sail.

Awesome manga, just wished author focused on the actual STORY of the manga.

from the synopsis:

Set in Central Asia in a rural town near the Caspian Sea during the early 19th century, the story revolves around a young woman, Amir, who arrives from a distant village across the mountains to marry Karluk, a boy eight years her junior. The story unfolds among details of everyday family and community life. However, the peaceful atmosphere is disturbed when Amir's family demands to take her back to their village.

I could care less about some fucking doctor and his adventures. I can let the other story of the tomboy girl pass and she is somewhat relevant to the main couple... but wasting chapters upon chapters on useless side-stories of some doctor and his adventures I didnt sign up for is just silly.

PS. Cant wait until this fucking doctor and his band of followers get fucking killed by the russians or something. No more bullshit arc stories and just focus on main story. That will be the day

And the author knows its bullshit cuz he keeps giving us these mini-chapters of the ACTUAL MOTHER FUCKING STORY with the MC and FMC and whats going on in their lives.

Overall a good read, just wish author stick with his story and stopped the bullshit with doctor.

It's all nice and fine to have opinions @kronix, but when you can't make a complete sentence without swearing it just comes off as the whining of a 6 years old kid in the supermart, whose mother refused to buy him candy.

But answering your actual point: The synopsis wasn't written by the actual author and as it is his own work he does what ever the bloody hell he wants to do with it.
I personally love every sidestory this manga had to offer.

@Equilibrium i love u too bb <3

@ardennes imagine if in most manga the MCs disappear from the story for 5, 10 chapters in a row. Just let that sink in for a min bruh

@kronix though luck this manga has multiple "main" characters and multiple story lines and by the looks of it, they will get even more screentime.

Kronix just pisses on everything in every manga they go to. Just ignore them.

I started this manga a couple of weeks ago and stopped when Smith had to leave Talas.

Come back, caught up and...well, even if a #tragedyflag has been raised, reader's wish fulfilled

This is called "A Bride's Story" for a reason, but it's not a story of a single bride, it's stories about brides, on that region, on that time. Everything is the real and principal story, Karluk and Amira were just introduced first.
And Smith was there since the beginning for the exactly same reason he is going back to Kyrgyzstan now.

The fact that Talas' past husbands have all died before her makes the charm scene more heartbreaking than heartwarming I'm not crying I'm NOT

What war is this foreshadowing? The Russo-Turkish War? The Crimean War? Those are the two that come to mind but I'd appreciate a history buffs input.

Oops, I guess if I had just read a little more I would have figured out it's probably the Russo-Turkish War of 1877.
