Honestly I didn't have huge hope that it was going to last long, even at the start it was very fast paced and derivative. But it has a charm of its own and I hope the author gets some recognition.

damn, final boss already? this author produces such a good story derived from scandinavian folklore, but looks like the japanese readers don't really vibe with it

I don't think a single chapter of Otr has felt not rushed, but this chapter takes the cake by far for wasted potential. Kawaguchi-sensei clearly had many interesting ideas that they had to squeeze into this single-chapter fight between Otr and Cholerio...

Otr is definitely getting axed, unfortunately. The Ice King himself has arrived, and this fight probably won't last more than 3 chapters. It is Otrover.

That's the sad thing. Otr never burned as bright as it could have in the first place, because it was always speeding in fear of an axe.

Otr's quality basically oscillates with the Jump batches; immediately after an axe round, the pace would slow down and the story would actually start to make sense. The Suruld and Doadoa arcs were the best arcs because they were when the mangaka felt the most safe to do what they wanted.
