he's been a kinda fun, kinda frustrating character the whole time. He spelled it out, he's A Villain and totally out for himself. Maybe his whole purpose in the story is, as Kage said, to (unintentionally) teach Bojji him to not be so absolutely trusting. And Bojji DID dodge that last dust+slash trick, and didn't look like he was caught completely off-guard by it, so that's good. Bojji didn't lose himself in the "be less trusting" process, he was still concerned, but still cautious, and still miffed about the trick.
