BS, you could still have done something.
At least tell everyone you know that those rumors about him are fake and BS like that....
And so the church didn't abandon him, but that one dude was robbing his money and didn't want to be caught....
So he had way more people on his side than he thought.... which is sometimes kinda true for bullied people and people with low self esteem...
Even while most people won't know of their troubles, they themselves believe that they do and even their memories can adapt to that belief....
Sad that sometimes, the person we can't trust the most is actually ourselves...
