not really fair to call them Karen-commoners. If they aren't going to fix the streets, why are you paying taxes? Maybe things were different when Horace was there but now the incompetent nobles can't even keep the lights on. They should be mad.

To a degree, yes, but Horace also had it right when he said that some of them saw something bad and immediately jumped to the wrong / worst possible conclusions and were rabble-rousing. Which is fair enough, as much the same happens IRL all the time.
But those commoners were complaining to Horace, when his golems were running the country with superhuman robotic efficiency.
Yes, the commoners have legit complaints now because the lights aren't staying on, but the in the King's flashback, it was commoners complaining TO Horace, when everything was running smoothly.
And like Horace himself said, there are commoner demagogues who use any little excuse to rile up the ungrateful rabble and cause trouble, even when there was an existential crisis that had forced the entire world to unite.
I enjoy how the king has changed, it's more interesting seeing him have a change of heart and try to correct his corrupt country than just watching them explode.

Like one poster said in a previous chapter, I wonder how much the incompetence of the current nobles is due to a manpower shortage that was caused by the disastrous war against the Demon Lord and her Charm magic.
Not only would you lose your trained and competent men, but they'd turn around and kill even more of your trained and competent men, until you train up and send out only women who are immune to the Charm magic.

First they make it sound like MC made The Antenna, and that he was actively using it. Now it comes out it's some ancient artifact, and that he doesn't (maybe? not yet?) have the ability to use it? But how was he using it before if his ability to control his golems was limited to three meters of distance, and he had a small army of them handling The Kingdom's scut work?
I'm pretty sure Tripolar's translation isn't that bad, more that the mangaka isn't all that great at keeping things straight.

The antenna is an artifact the kingdom acquired and "protected", no-one there knows how it actually works.
MC does know how it works, and has the mana/magic control to actually use it, and did.
From the description the thing works like a narrow-band amplifier: you need to feed it a specific frequency, and the golems need to "receive" at that frequency. Basically a magical MASER.
If you don't know the core frequency, and have the control to "send" at that frequency, the Antenna is basically useless.
I doubt many people outside the MC actually have the level of control needed to operate it.
