At first I thought I was really going to dislike Huroi — fast-talkers are one of my top most hated types even irl — but gdi if I'm not seriously liking him before the chapter's out??!
@AMetroid Maybe it's similar to Shield Hero rules where he can use it as a tool but isn't allowed to try to stab somebody with it. Perhaps he was simply trying to carve a nice wooden figurine for them?
Also, books can be pretty dangerous. Have you ever been hit by one? It hurts pretty bad.
Don't get fooled by his appearance. Later on he openly insults Grid's enemies by bringing up their parents. It's always hilarious whenever he appears. Like you have this serious encounter between Grid and a powerful enemy and best boy Huroi just shows up and starts making the Enemy's face redder than Hawaii's volcanoes by talking about their parents
The way he interrogates people is also peak comedy. People who are just starting the manga, you have seen nothing yet.
Definitively hands down one of the best Overgeared characters. Next to chuuni guy who is not introduced in the manga yet. (Hint: the chuuni's guy's name is the opposite of Yanny)

This new character is another big L. He worsened the significance of the npcs/narrative since he showed how easily they can be manipulated using his skill and he got forced into the role of a sidekick by that quest, ending up as fodder for the mc's growth.
For a game addict the MC is not very bright. In fact he's behaving like a whale without the money. Pretty easy to relate to considering most people would be like that. But yeah it's infuriating for the reader. We just want an OP but not too OP MC with some critical thinking of his own lol.
