LoL writer has no idea how economics work. If many people have the item, and only one person can use the item; then the cost is going to be driven down. It might be still relatively high, but it's not going to be sky high. The only things in MMOs with sky high prices are low drop rate items, or high end crafted items can can only be crafted by a few player. And in both cases there are more buyers then suppliers.

You can have whatever fantastical environment, but you can't have people that don't act like people.

@Machiche that made me laugh.
for those that don't know here.

@Filipe Wait just looked at MangaUpdates after noticing the Complete. So with 24 Chapters there's only going to be 4 more chapters??? I was hoping to get the full story, not the first arc.

@kronix Pretty sure next chapter will have her see his arrows at the auction. At least, that's where the flow seems to be leading.

@AMetroid So what are you complainin about? You're agreeing with the author, but saying he knows nothing about economics.

Blue-orichalcum is valuable item because it can be used to make strong items and it has low drop rate.
But the price of blue-orichalcum is still low because only the small numbered advance blacksmith can use it to make weapon, and in addition, no user has unlocked advance blacksmithing yet.
In near future, some users with blacksmith job, in this case they speculated most likely to be Panmir, will reach higher level and can use it- Then the price will go up.

@Archomp The relevant dialog
"It already has such a high value, but when a user with advance blacksmithing skills shows up? The price would increase by hundreds, maybe thousands, of times."
Right now the price is high due to speculation, but an item is only worth what someone will pay for it. If the ONE person who can use the item refuses to pay the crazy price, it'll only have its speculative value. And once a few people are willing to come down on it's speculative price, it's value will collapse.
But after reconsidering I can see how it might be the other way. There's too little info on the market to accurately say. And apparently people in this world are willing to dump thousands of dollars (US$) on in games items, so who knows.
