Sure thing, he are some spoilers that are...." relatively" not too far off in the future ( you have to remember we are at like novel chapter 100 and there is like 1400+ chapters.
I'm sure as heck ain't going to explain all 1400 chapters worth of the story 😅

TL: DR Because Grids takes it over by threatening to leave after he basically makes everyone dependent on him, and then he makes a new guild and them makes them join his guild.
Why? because he is a giant douchebag and wants to be in charge so he can make even more money.

Not sure who you are referring to, but I'm going to assume you are talking about the NPC girl that he saved twice from the demon worshipers.
If so yes, he does and he indirectly ( and later on directly ) becomes the ruler of the city and its land.

Isabella (The girl who busted down the wall in chapter 45 to recover the stolen shield ) eventually manages to get it back and forgets to pay for it.
Isabella is a "daughter of Rebbecca" ( basically a super high tier Paladin with godly powers )
This makes Grid travel to the Godesess Rebbeca´s Temple to get paid for it, which is what kickstarts the next arc.

The reason his classmates wanted to invite him was that most of them has had a shit life after school and wanted to bully him to feel better about themselves.
He shows up with a famous girl ( not saying who ) and basically shits on everybody, including his old crush that he proposed to, who tries to seduce him once she realises he is richer than everyone else.

She eventually comes back after finding a super ultra mega rare recipe for a weapon so Grid can make the weapon he promised he would make for her.
It just so happens that the weapon blueprint she found was a trap and it starts a world quest where an ancient lich comes to take over the world with an army of golems because she made Grid craft it.
Ofc Gridtakes responesebility happens to run into the lich by accident because one of his followers uses a skill to find rare crafting materials and finds a one of a kind metal that the lich owns.

Yes and No.
He eventually gets a little better over time.
but its extreamly slow and even by chapter 800 he was still a dick to some people.
Dont expect charity or him helping somebody else out anytime soon ( as long as helping them doesent benefit himself that is.... )
Sure he stoped being a dick to everyone by chapter 800, but he was still a dick toeveryone most people outside of his kingdom.
( yes he gets his own kingdom around the time the Lich starts attacking people thanks to his NPC waifu and his own acomplishments )
This is however partly becouse of the game, becouse its very design encurages people to step on others and abuse them.
So yeah.... He does get better, but its gradual and over a very long time.
We are going to start noticeing some of the (small ) changes around the time he goes to the class reunion.
Its one of the biggger momments of his growth as its only then he realises that he no longer have an extream money problems like before and he loses some of his greed.
( His name litterly means greed however ( long story , not going into it ) so he never really stops being a greedy asshole, he just becomes a less greedy asshole afterwards. )

@TDSgaming in older games such as EQ we would charge(tip, user decided - usually 6-24 platinum per person even though it is a group(6) wide buff) people for 30-60m long buffs since they were so essential, it was extremely profitable to sit in a main city and buff people. When i first played WoW on its release day, I thought it was strange that some people weren't charging for buffs. eventually it completely fell out and no one expected to charge, even in a group when a paladin had to waste dozens of gold on buffs per dungeon/raid, it was insanity!
If i was on my cleric or enchanter I would sell those buffs any chance i got, even telling my group to wait while i buff a new party that came by. Enchanters back then were known as crack dealers since all caster needed the mana buff. It's not unusual to sit down(with a spell book open to activate your passive weak regen) for half an hour or more at max level during the games 2nd xpack, if you didn't buy the buff from an enchanter aka crack dealer. Good times...
