Controversial opinion: Credits page animation is innovative and looks great!
I don't think that's really controversial. I'm following a number of series with animated credit pages, and Overlord is the only one where I'm complaining about it. What's controversial is that this single credit page is almost twice the size of the entire rest of the chapter.
According to my browser, the credit page was 40 MB, and the rest of the chapter was only 26 MB. 40 MB is the equivalent of a 3 minute long FullHD video at 24 FPS. Interestingly, I should've been able to download the entire 66 MB chapter in only 5 seconds with my 100 Mbps connection, yet somehow it took 50 seconds instead. That's 10 times as long. This is a sign that the MangaDex content servers are throttling, which is itself a sign that they are struggling with traffic (or were struggling with it in the past).
While it's great that you don't care thanks to your 5G connection, MangaDex is still a free service hosted on real servers with real bandwith limits. You're not a new user. Like me, you've been around since the beginning of MangaDex. I'm sure you remember the times when MangaDex was utterly unusable due to traffic congestions. Using up 2/3 of that bandwidth with a credit page that people will at best only read the first time and at worst skip altogether is a huge disservice to all of us, not just the ones with limited data rates or slow connections. Frankly, such behavior should not be encouraged.
I don't mind animated credit pages, as long as it's reasonable. This is anything but.
