This chapter really illustrates how much of a fool Philip can be. Griping at other nobles from a corner, ignoring social norms and going straight to greet Albedo (who was clearly taken aback) in the presence of royals and other high nobles, ignoring his own father who clearly know more of politics, arrogantly assuming the major powers are simply pawns in his hand despite having practically no power himself, expecting the Sorcerer Kingdom to help them without return and then accepting a "free" house to hold his ball in. On top of this, he wants to claim Renner and Albedo for his own, the two most dangerous individuals in that room. I can't wait to see how he gets played into the ground. Also that chess set is cute.

While he really is an idiot, he got one thing right albeit in his own naive dumb ways gets, is to take the sorcerer kingdom's side.
Too bad he's just a throw away pawn in grand scheme of things.

I know we all agree that Phillip is an idiot but there is one thing he is right about: Letting personal feelings aside for the good of the territory, even though it is just an excuse in this situation.

Being close to the Sorcerer Kingdom a new country could be a pretty good source of new income for a small territory in the outskirt of a failling kingdom.

The basic idea he had was correct, he's just too stupid to actually have a plan to make it work.

Reminder to anyone who have seen the anime and/or knows this arc: Phillip is very, very stupid and delusional that even the most smartest beings in both factions, Albedo, Demiurge, and Renner, can’t fully predict his actions because he’s that stupid and delusional

Ainz-sama had predicted every move of Phillip-kaka.
Everything goes as Ainz-sama envisioned since his triumphant success in thhe Holy Kingdom.

SASUGA AINZ-SAMA!
