@drakedog what you mean? this is one of my favorite arcs showing how the common people have to survive in this world of monsters and heroes. Its something I haven't seen before Overlord.

This is also the arc of the ascension of Enri the bloody to power, how she dominates other races not out of glory but out of necessity.

At first i agree with @drakedog but after i read further, i realize that @Faryshta comment was the correct one.
She will be one of the major human characters in the series.

For you who have read the LN: I stopped following Overlord after the second season of the anime. Ainz actions had become too evil and unlike say, Breaking Bad where the main becomes a character you are supposed to hate, Overlord continued to tread Ainz as a character we are supposed to root for - and I cant.

So my question: Is the part of Ainz that was human gone for good or does he eventually recognize what he has become and what he is allowing to happen? I liked the struggle between his two sides early in the story and hoped more would happen there.

@Drifter
Ainz situation is interesting because he never stopped being human but he also has to play his role as best as he can.
For Ainz there is only Nazarick but even then he does what he can to not let the NPCs cause more harm than needed.
Evil is always subjective so it is from person to person.

But no, Ainz don't change the way he acts nor does things untill were the LN is right now though the last arc kind shows how "benevolent" he is in his own way without breaking character.

Even the children?
All goblins must die!

@mahtan
Ainz has lot his humanity, when he was about to kill the 70k soldiers to summon the cute babies, he said he doesn't feel nothing he only wants to see benefits for Nazarick, the reason he cares for Nazarick and all the NPCs, it's that little piece of humanity called Satoru that he still have, for whom Naarick was a precious place where all his friends reunited. If he were to renegate from his old persona, his humanity, he would become a full Overlord and wouldn't give a shit about killing any NPC, nor resurrect them (Shalltear) or even destroy Nazarick itself as he wouldn't hve any bond with it.

@Drifter You can gauge the remaining "humanity" left in Ainz with the answer he gave when he found out about the captured humans of the Kingdom, swift painless death to those who don't bring harm to nazarick regardless of gender or age.

Ainz has not lost his "humanity".
Though I suppose first one has to define what "humanity" is to say someone lost it.
It is perfectly human to kill thousands of people is that will fulfill one's objective, we have more than enough examples of this in history. In the situation were he killed the soldiers it was a war and they were the enemy, it was no different from when he was in the game and there is the facilitator that he was doing it remotely and not with his own hands (though I doubt it would matter because of the undead special characteristic of not being affected by mind illness).

Wait, a sec. Did they remove the breakfast scene? I like the banter there even thou it won't affect the plot if it's not included here.

It might not be main story, but I enjoy this in its own way. World buildings - or rather village building and some minor character building. And I enjoy the dynamic of a multiple species village that normally won't live together.

And let's not forget that while the boy is physically weak, he isn't unimportant as someone actually capable of making high quality potions. They might have better stuff in stock, but the existing stock cannot last forever.
