@Fenixr It's keter because they can't leave it alone, they have to constantly monitor and maintain it to ensure forces outside of their control don't cause damage to the house and by extension the universe. If things like earthquakes, wear etc. didn't threaten the stability of the attic then it would be safe.

@AbuHajaar how does a containment sphere prevent an earthquake from liquidating the house? Or even say wood rotting and causing the house to collapse and destroy the attic/universe?

@Guralub @Phuocphuc46 No, it's because a natural disaster could destroy the house and in turn destroy all of reality. Plus the house itself is possible to break down due to being made of wood, so "locking it in a box" means that after enough time, the wood will rot and collapse the house.

@SunSun I'm pretty sure the Foundation has ways to mitigate the earthquake problem. They built structures that withstood consecutive INTERNAL nuclear attacks. Their whole shtick revolves around containment, if there's one area that they are deficient in, it is certainly not structural engineering.

There's nothing really preventing them from placing supports and just moving the entire house. The preservation issues are mundane and can be done with baseline tech. Resources really are not a problem with the Foundation.

While the implications of this scip is heavy, its containment would be relatively mundane. The house superstructure is still made of normal wood in the end. It's not like SCP-319 which is a similar SCP with world-ending scenario on containment failure but we don't know what material we need to fix it.

@Fenixr If aliens make a death star and fly it out of the universe, would a wooden sphere fly out of the attic?

@AbuHajaar did you miss that the closet contains extra-dimension? Meaning, moving it just became impossible, as there's insurmountable amount of mass there.
(Wonder if it locks our orbit as well?)
Though I agree that the SCP could move the ground from under it and restructure the foundations in such a way that it becomes earthquake proofed. Then build megastructure over it against other disasters. Definitely still would need maintenance. (Though it might not be necessary to use the same material, but again, risky to experiment.)

I wonder why moving it is impossible when is technically house does move in space. Earth is spinning and and circling the sun. Why this all part of extra dimension can't be moved if it is moving ALL the time in universe scale?

I think they idea is that the dimension is in a fixed position, with the house existing around it. You could put it all on a truck, but you'd just rip the attic out of the house, leaving a floating room that's now more damaged than before the attempt to move it.

So the entire universe is contained in an old Wooden house. Shouldn't this one be an end of the universe scenario, something ?

@AbuHajaar Underground containment facilities built from the ground up to withstand earthquakes and nuclear attacks do not translate to a "containment sphere" that prevents earthquakes from affecting a house NOT built to withstand earthquakes.

The seismic activity would still be transfered into the sphere itself, as long as any part of that "sphere" you proposed is touching the earth, it's vulnerable. The only way to prevent a terrestrial object from being affected by earthquakes with non-Type Blue+ tech or anything like that, would be completely suspending the object in question in multiple suspended cells with high shock absorption. Because again, the house itself is not built to withstand earthquakes. And even that would not completely nullify all vibrations without extensive construction, as well as the failure of any of the systems would cause a massive XK event. Which still leaves the classification as Keter.

AND that's assuming the house even survives the initial construction phase, unless the Foundation still has theoretical and empirical knowledge of advanced construction methods that are far ahead the current tech behind the Scrantons, that prevents the vibrations from digging and excavating from affecting the house, you know LIKE AN EARTHQUAKE DOES.

AND that's also assuming the house can even be moved without affecting the space within the attic. All evidence so far shows that physical interactions of the house that involve the attic, does transfer into the real galaxy as well. What's going to happen if we move the house? "Picking up" and moving a house is essentially subjecting it to a small earthquake. That's literally incident 100-2.

Your proposals would have the SCP be subjected to events that are no different than current natural disasters, for the purpose of preventing natural disasters from affecting the SCP. If the SCP causes an XK event in the process of more secure containment measures, that's far too great a risk. Unless you're aware of a method to transport an object into a null-space, or enter perfect stasis, current containment procedures still stand, as does the classification.

@AbuHajaar sure, but maybe that wing of the foundation really has bad engineers, and since they don't have the know how to relocate the house without messing it out, the changed it to keter.

how do they observe the destruction of something that's millions of light years away?

There aren't earthquakes in yucatan (at least in 90% of the yucatan peninsula, and the other 10% only has very rare magnitude 1-3), there are hurricanes though.

Ok, so i've lived in Yucatan and i have to say that there are some wrong things here.
1) There are no earthquakes there, like, it's phisically impossible because there are no tectonic plates in the area, what could happen is that you could feel the earthquake's vibrations that come from another place where the epicenter is, but it would barely be noticeable. A hurricane or tropical storm would make more sense.

2) As far as i know, there are no houses with attics in yucatan, i visited most of the state and every single house was square, but that is just creative liberty so it doesn't bother me at all.

Seems like no one noticed the hole resembled this:
