There are plenty of manga that depicts serial killers skinning their victims alive, making human furniture, mutilation, and other ways of torture. Eating a human to absorb their skills is, in hindsight, more practical than eating mindless monsters.

I like how her gift literally conjures a plate and silverware for her to eat the monsters with, complete with turning them into edible plate-sized dishes.

Puts a nice bit of cuteness on the usual "eat monster to get stronger" story that has someone just biting into a corpse.

I remember i used to read this one manhua where the MC power scales on a more aggressive scale with what he eats, to the point he technically becomes a chimera, the apex predator of two dimensions, with a livestock disciple with a similar ability.
