What is fun about this is the fact for a normal-pet owner, the pet might as well be a child of theirs (especially a dog!).

It's cute though the broad implications for the setting are, of course, completely horrifying, notwithstanding that no one got et. (That "ranch" in particular I don't want to see.)

I added a shoujo-ai tag because those last panels seem to make pretty clear the author's intent on how we're supposed to interpret their budding relationship (which in this case seems in questionable taste to me but I guess the whole thing was, lol).
