There's not enough details in their shirt to see if the buttons are on the right side (usually male) or left side (female). The translator should be able to tell us if the "I" is watashi, ore, or boku but even that's not a guarantee. Watashi could just be formal (due to age difference), ore is rude with a stranger (especially an older one), and a tomboy might be a boku girl.
