I think this story might be too dark for me. I thought the author was going lighter after Red Storm but this story actually seems like more of a bummer.

Man I was literally going "oh no oh noooo" dark as it may be, the author is fantastic at balancing the fluffiness with the gritty stuff - always throwing in super cute d'aww moments with the kids before smacking you in the face with that bloody shit

A somewhat predictable pattern, but damn it's engrossing all the same
