A nice ending even if there are a lot of unresolved plot threads and developments that didn’t really go anywhere still.
Aside from that, my only issue with this ending would be that even after all those years with his nanny and her son and all the focus on them in the first two thirds of the story, they gradually stopped appearing. You’d think the woman who raised his kids (who he called the pillar of his family) and her son who he said is also a son to him (and that he fought the first metal demon and went through the metal qi Namek arc to save) would also be considered part of his family if the apprentice who barely appeared in the story was also allowed in the picture.
He said much earlier in the story that his martial art is too inhumane to train his kids in, which is why he also didn’t train Bong even though he showed potential in withstanding a beating. Clearly he values the boy enough to consider him a son or nephew and to not teach him out of kindness, but he doesn’t value him enough to include him in a family portrait with his apprentice.
