I’m so confused as to what the protag actually did at the end. Generic Love Interest A was being held on to by protag and the Alien-rip-off monster had her ensnared, and they were being pulled back by the open hatch. Protag was holding on to GLIA. He goes ‘don’t die. Survive.’ And the next panel they’re gone and love interest is fine. How did he get the tentacles off of her, give her a grip on the pipe, hit the monster and send them both out of the hatch?

On page 50, the MC seems to slide down, hit the AI robot with his weapon, free the girl and toss her further up behind a barrier...
