Well now I want to get some bread. I don't live in Germany but pretty close and the bread shown here is definitely really good. I do also miss some of the bread I had when I was in Japan though.

I love seeing and and learning about new words on German. I guess Rachel really got affected with that blow that ema gave her. Lol

A very nice perspective from the author, and one that's not often seen with mangas of this nature. It's great getting good, handmade bread from a specialty shop.

Thank you for the translation.

The only reason why modern bread are so delicious to us is because since the Industrial Revolution we became addicted to sugar, so that we have enough energy for a long day's work each day. I doubt that a German girl from the 15-16th century would find a bread delicious with everything they put into it today.

thanks for the translation, but you know, the only thing im still wondering is how is she not being burned at the stake for being a witch. Especially when the Black Plague is considered being caused by a witch. Its not like she have any actual power, just some modern gizmo. Even in chapter 1 the Lord introduced her as a Witch lmao.
iirc witch trails are later. Also considering the guy in chapter 1 was walking around with a lighter I’m pretty they’d look the other for future tech reguardless

This is so cute and fluffy. I know I'm way late but thank you for the scanslations!

So another fun thing about bakeries since I love this stuff - back in these days almost nobody had their own oven at home. You would have an open fire over which you could fry things or make stews, but if you actually wanted to bake things, like a pie, you would take them to the local baker, who would be legally obligated to cook them for you in his oven for a legally fixed low fee. Certainly in Germany, they love legislating everything.

(And, manga aside, it was sadly almost always a he )

While i have only read a few chapters, i've really enjoyed them. Tho one thing that i can't really overlook is the german, since it is pretty butchered. As a german it just feels wrong to read. It is still very enjoyable tho!

So, stupid question. What if I went to middle age and don't want make bread rather a pasta or noodle? Will the lord get pissed because I don't pay the baker?
