your loss i for one see in between the lines. when they say men don't cry i see be strong for others or maybe its because i don't attribute irl politics and values to my entertainment.
people very much do have instincts. what you think maternal and paternal instincts are a myth. you think fight or flight response is voluntary response.
humans like to think they are oh so special and oh so superior to animals because we have tools and intelligence you know what also has intelligence and can use tools? octopus and crows. so no we are still animals we still have instincts we are still run by emotions. we are tiny and insignificant lifeforms living on a big hunk of rock with the rest.
