To the translator with regard to your request for comments on putting notes in the margins of the pages-

It is rather distracting and frankly, annoying. When I see text in the margins of a page I am usually expecting notes about the work of translation, like a clarification of a specific subject, an explanation of a specific translation decision, or some information about something like kanji being read in a specific way.

Running commentary from the translator is better reserved for the credits page at the end. When I am reading the manga, I would like to read the manga, not the translator's color commentary.

I think the pages near the end got mixed up, page 33 should be the last one. Other than that, this chapter was super cute, I like seeong the prez opening up a bit more tothose around him and indulging in his own interests

Thanks for the TL!

Tysm for the TL!! I love seeing the phanbasu cast’s shenanigans.

Regarding the commentary, I also agree that they should be kept compiled at the end of the chapter in your end notes :D! It is distracting, and I would rather read chapters undisturbed before engaging in other opinions :3. I think regular TL notes (e.g., [word] was written as [word] but read as [word]) can also be kept in the end notes too, but I think keeping those next to the relevant text would also benefit the reading experience

HELLO!!! THANKS AS ALWAYS FOR THE NEW CHAPTER! I was so happy to see it!

I personally enjoy your commentary on the pages, especially since you are going out of your way to do the translations in the first place. I think the above comment's suggestion of compiling them all at the end is a good solution! Thanks once again! <3

this chapter was so funny, I’m glad the prez is getting his own focus!!

about the tl notes, I think they’re really entertaining so I don’t mind seeing them! when reading scanlations I always think it’s unofficial so it’s fine if it’s not really “formal.” I also wouldn’t mind having the scanlation notes at the end though bc I know some people prefer that ^^

I don't mind notes as long as they're not all over the page. No one should really be expecting a super formal work for a fan scanlation, anyway.

I don't mind the commentary all that much, as I do find them fun to read. It's like having someone read and experience the chapter alongside you, which, in my opinion, adds to the overall experience.

However, do make sure the comments aren't actually in the panels (or at least mark it as a TL note), since at certain points it was hard to tell what was TL notes and what wasn't.

In particular, this panel was really bad in that regard. At least I think it's a TL note? The fact that I can't really tell speaks for itself.

Sidenote: What I'm referring to is the "That's kinda gay of dudes ngl" text on the left.

Ough me and the 12 other Phanbus fans thank you. As for the notes, I don't mind when it's to explain a thing in the manga, but translator feelings and quips can be a little distracting. That said, I'm just glad you're doing this at all. I love these loser boys.

First, thank you for all the work you put into translating Phantom Busters. That hard work is the reason us English speakers get to enjoy the manga and not have to get by trying to piece the story together just looking at pretty pictures lol! This chapter was really enjoyable!

Regarding the comments in the margins, I actually love reading them! Like another posted wrote, it feels like you're reading or commentating with a friend since I'm pretty much agreeing with you as I'm reading! You're comments are short, light-hearted, and funny--and they match the humor of the manga really well. In my opinion, that comment from the screenshot was uncalled for, this is an unofficial fan translation and they can ignore the side margins if they wanted to (or wait for/buy the official Viz release). Nothing you've said would make any new teen/adult reader with reading comprehension misinterpret anything anyway, this is an original manga with a little sprinking of BL hints from a known yaoi doujinshi artist but it isn't BL (and you can't control a fandom, in the West I don't know that PB is all that popular yet). Neo Shoco leaves it ambiguous enough that those who want shipping can ship and those who came for the humor, story, and friendship can ignore it..

AKA: keep the side comments coming, lol!
