Yeah, dropping this. This is crap writing.
The younger brother, Liam, is acting how I would expect an immature child to act. Huh, an immature child? Like Philomel before she read the book?!?! She is not a reincarnated person. She does not have life experiences of an adult. She is a child who read a book and now believes it. And yet, it's like she was never a child who had tantrums and misbehaved.
Then there's that part about their punishment of the mother and her sons. They were erased from the royal family and ostracized by society. All things that happen in the future, after this garden walk. But the writing is just awkwardly mixed in to make it seem like it's immediate? This is a minor writing issue, but it just shows the weird and awkward writing.
And I actually thought Logan, the older brother, was reasonable. He seemed competent and mature, like an educated aristocrat would be. But the author says screw it, kick out any characters with decent back stories and fleshed out characters. Pile on more crap.
This isn't even mentioning how quickly the emperor has changed his mind. Literally only been a few weeks. Now he loves Philomel so much that he kicks out his sister from the royal family, travels to the future to have them ostracized from society, and then tells Philomel what happened (sarcasm). The author is just lazy.
The premise was promising, but the author is just really bad. Dropped.
