Ohh, I stand corrected, so at least he didn't abuse the synthesis system (unless the characters didn't earn their keep at all). Well, that explains why his home base had like 25k people in it, haha. Truly a small kingdom in its right.

The idea that the entire world literally had no more heroes is soul crushing as well, and he did the best he could. As it shows, you can pick almost anyone up and develop/upgrade/promote them if they show enough potential, but we all know how gacha geeks are obsessed with growth rates and not losing a single stat point.

C'mon now. Oh, and his characters liked him, so using other ones as disposable pawns was totally cool and can be completely ignored, alright.

That flashback of him looking at a kid holding hands with an adult. Maybe his synth-less playstyle is his own reflection of him being an orphan(?)?

I assume him saying only when I needed to, refers to people like the bandits who would throw the waiting room into chaos.

But really this whole part falls flat when ch.1 showed his main strategy was throwing a disposable team in first to look at the mission before sending in his heroes.

ngl i too cant get this off my head, but hey it would be impossible to clear the 80th floor without sacrifices so i guess it was a given, if he sent the strongest party on the first attempt his kingdom would just be as good as doomed
