Author decided to start a new series and had put this on hiatus, except a lot of people were not happy about it since it's right before the end and it felt like they were being abandoned for something that was potentially not good which is understandable since theres been many examples of authors abandoning their best known work that was not finished like the soul land author who decided to start multiple sequels of the manhuas while each one wasn't finished

Didn't start another series, the author (the one who's writing) had other, already running series which he kept writing for, instead of finally focusing on Player.

There was some fear mongering not long ago how "OMG AUTHOR CAN'T FINISH THE STORY CAUSE HE MADE ARTHUR TOO STRONG" but that was BS.

Considering that it came back from hiatus not long after, they were working on it for a few weeks to months, but I guess they just kept delaying the release.
