The biggest difference between this and My wife is from a thousand years ago is that all the pranksters and naggy characters in that series can't even ruffle the feathers of the cool MC, whereas this guy is a nervous bunny who is mostly passive, he never gives as good as he gets. People self-Insert into his feelings of insecurity. But objectively speaking these two stories have the exact same style and character types.

Just imagine if my wife is from a thousand years ago had Haozi (police officer guy) as the mc, and you can get a sense for how different it would feel.
