I'm a little confused. I thought the Villainess system was the one responsible for Evie's family falling into scandal. Did all the witchcraft and time travel change how these events played out in the past too?
It is, and it probably is capable of essentially manipulating fate in a way that made things play out that way. i don't read the LN or anything else though, wouldn't know exactly how the system does it.

edit: think of the time travel working kiiinda like it did in harry potter i guess. whatever you did in the "past" technically already happened and is also why Elsa is so attached to Evie in the beginning of the story.

That makes sense. I gathered it was a paradox-type time loop but was fuzzy on the intricacies. Its a bit confusing how the Villainess System hasn't really been mentioned since, like its been retconned almost.

Thanks for the TL!
I hope the old lead artist is okay, and I'm glad we know why there was the artstyle changes for the past few chapters.
Finally time for Elsa to remeet the family! I think it's interesting that even at this point Elsa is doubting whether she'll be able to be part of Evie's family or not like girl.. cmon.

Either new artist is good at keeping the style.... or I'm just too blind to notice.
The new artist definitely did keep the style pretty close, around 85% to 90% I'd say. But their linework isn't as soft, perspective is a bit worse, and colour shading is flatter. However, artists get better with practice, so I'm not worried even if it's different from DuanS.

"Why were innocent people punished"
"You see, this story is written by a collectivist society. While that can lead to some good care of each other, it also leads to extremely shitty collectivist punishments and, honestly, this entire kingdom shoulda already had coups and revolutions going on in the ire of the people because the dumb nobles, no matter the region of the world, can really control the masses when they were angered enough. Shoulda been more french revolutions or communist revolutions going on here." (which were also not great in how they punished so blindly, but ya, such shitty systems leads to shitty results)

edit: nothing dumb about FACTS my dudes. This story is written by a region of the world that had something as shitty codified into law as "Nine Familial Punishments" and has had its own countless revolutions and warring states and communist revolution BECAUSE of these policies that only anger people. Who woulda thought, a policy to kill/punish entire families and innocents woulda had such a backlash. Sorry to people who can't accept facts and reality

I hope the artist stays healthy.

I've wondered this plenty of times before, are manga authors / artists cursed to always have some sort of health complications? Feels bad man
It has a lot to do with how the industry rewards getting stuff done extremely fast to meet deadlines, art can be put a lot of pressure on your body when do so continuously, this is a worse issue in weekly manga as you pretty much have such a limited time to yourself if at all, not everyone is built for that kind of work eviroment and it shouldn't be like that in the first place
