@FredFriendly I find your application of the article about moral judgment hilariously absurd. Perhaps children can judge right or wrong, but do you honestly expect them to understand the relational and legal implications of divorce? That the children are well-versed in the laws about child custody and property rights? The very fact that the parents here are divorcing suggest that the root of the problem lies in the adults - that the adults made the wrong choices to end up where they are. If grownups can err and make their kids suffer like this, I fail to see why you expect the children to make better decisions or even be hold accountable for their decisions. Marriage, business, voting, driving regulations are established based on a designated age of legal adulthood for a very obvious reason.
