Additional notes: Nero uses the archaic pre-Meiji form of "Mother" so I set it in Etruscan.

This whole scene is loosely based upon the ancient Latin play Octavia (as well as a line or two in Suetonius and Tacitus): http://www.forumromanum.org/literature/seneca_younger/octavia_e.html

(I hope the Poles don't mind lifting their A's, but if it ain't broke...)

Felix is going to have to retire early, having to heard these nerds to Rome.
Wonder if Pliny makes a connection between earthquakes and tsunami

I need some clarification. The emperor is Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, right?
Which year do we have? 60 AD? Later?

@Somebody Nero is 24 so it must be some time in mid-AD 62, same as the Octavia play.
@sylvacoer Pliny was just about to come up with continental drift theory before he got interrupted. Next time it's the cross, Felix!
