Yeah on re-read, I think the chapters really should be put in release order. Pikachu opening its eyes & Red's statement in the beginning is a transition from the end of the flashback arc back to the present. It doesn't flow from the previous chapter (Ch 14) and feels super abrupt.

Having the prequels at the beginning doesn't capture the artstyle changes/improvements over time, and reading the flashback arc at the beginning makes the pacing really awkward. Until then I'll just tell ppl I recommend the series to skip & return to those chapters accordingly.
