Pokemon Plat Berry plant dissapear?

So, recently I played Pokemon Platinum again.
I sprinkle some water on 2 plants, they were Wacan berries and had 2 berries each. After I sprinkled them, white sparkles showed up on their bodies and they transformed back into sprouts.
Did they expired or something?
Also, pls give me berry tips

Edit: After some walking, I found 4 Tamato plant, had 5 berries ecach yesterday, had transformed back into sprout. I also found other plants turned into sprouts too...
