This is inpressive, the writing is worse than that if the games.
Everything is rushed, there is very little time spent on character and we just jump around everywhere. More than half of all characters met so far seem to be villains. This is just sad 😢

More interesting to some degree maybe, but not more consistent. And being better than practically nothing is not really praiseworthy.

as for consistency, yeah it's about the same. I mean, sitting back and letting a fucking teenager handle the big bad syndicate without helping even a bit certainly is worse in terms of motivation than this lmao
Ye, my original statement was a bit hyperbolic, though my main point how bad at least the first parts of this series is. Though the games have the defence that the story is secondary to the gameplay, this does not have that luxury and both have bad/lazy stories.
PKM special was my childhood manga (from Red to the end of Gold). Rereading this, I hate to say the pace is too fast. Compare to Ash exploring/adventuring the world of pkm, Special mainly focus is on the plot against villains.
Not as good as I remember but manga is still decent.
