Unlike the actual games I'm happy Red didn't go on to become a mountain hermit and instead found new goals to work towards. My problem with so many stories is that once a character finishes their part of the story and thei goal is achieved they just fall to the side and don't change at all afterwards. Red finished his goal of being the strongest, along with Blue and Green probaly documented all Johto pokemon and now has the new goal of becoming a gym leader. And his struggles aren't over either since he's experiencing side effects of the whole ice statue thing. Yay for character development
