In personal opinion, I'd remake it and try and make the chapters a bit more coherent. (specifically when gwimbus boobie appeared)

Personally, I think that it would be good either way. But, it really sounds like you want to do it this way, and I do think it would get to a larger audience if they were redone.

I liked the originals, but it definitely didn't feel as serious as it seems to be now. I did genuinely enjoy the humor, especially paired with the early art, but if you want to tell the story a bit more seriously then it wouldn't hurt to try remaking it at some point.
