@Karamru they had no intention of including her from the start. They knew how pampered she was and that she wasn't taught anything and continuously beat her down for it. Yes, its her fault she didn't learn these things but thats no reason to do those things to her. Their plan was to beat her into submission using words so they could rule the country while she is just a figure head. They would constantly remind her of her incompetence and even blame her for the loss of her brother. The knight wasn't simping, he was just the only non-corrupted person there. This is not a spoiler but if you've read enough, you can see these things coming.

LOL XD So damn true. I read these kinds of stories all the time where corrupt vassals always take advantage of a weakened state of a high noble's estate and try to essentially take over.

Short chapter but important nonetheless.
Honestly though she is pretty freaking useless right here. The older brother was a fool for pampering a royal member. Like, if you want the benefits of being born into power and wealth, you'd better have the skills to exercise the responsibility that comes with those things.
The princess will be pretty useless for the time being, but excluding her is wrong, too. Unless the nobles use this as an opportunity to abolish the monarchy system of governing and opt for an aristocracy instead, her useless self must be included. This will be her opportunity to gain experience and rise to the occasion.
Thankfully she has that knight (ML?) who stood up for her. Otherwise she truly would've been cast aside and lost indefinitely.

You guys a wayyy to harsh on someone who was never going to hold a position of authority who doesn't know what to do when a disaster strikes. She didnt run for president of "Skyland," nor did she chose to be thrust into this position, she was just going to get married off to the shady red hair guy.

Honestly, it seems like the were trying to break her spirit so they could control her, atleast to me.

Though I think it's dumb that she didn't try to learn anything especially if she was going to be queen of some other country or wife to an owner of a fief or whatever, it's not like she or anyone else thought she would ever have the chance to rule a place so...

@Randompasserby18, its not that easy to get a hold of yourself in a situation like that. (I guess I have to type a lot...This's gonna be long....) The thing is, the artists and the author....they probably didnt want it to be scary. So, I think they decided to make it more....eh. So basically, if this was in real life, if you were that princess, the crown prince would look like a guy who has a biiiiiggg hole on his chest with no heart, drenched in massive amounts of blood and stuck in a crystal thingy. -_- But not just any guy, your brother. The brother that you loved so much and gave you everything. Oh. And also, the guilt you feel for being so spoiled and wanted 10x the fireworks that made the mages busy. The guilt you feel for the ppl dying that the mages couldve saved. And most importantly, the guilt of being so useless. The subjects was right. She is useless. But dont get me wrong. They handled the situation very poorly. But anyways, its also gonna be scary. Imagine hearing people scream in pain and begging for help. While 'you', the suppossed leader of them, cant do anything. You'd realize so many things. You realize that beauty and your brother is the only thing you have. No leadership skills, no talents in archery/sword/gun and no power or whatsoever. Although she's probably good with connections and social blah blah, that cant do anything in this kind of situation right? You'll keep denying that you cant do anything but when you try to think of something, nothing pops up. You'll be scared if you'll die or end up just like your brother. You wont know what to do, where to go, or "is even this place safe? Am I gonna die just like this? I wanted to experience more....Please, tell me this is a dream. Please!!" Thats probably what your gonna think. You'll be so confused. Your life turned upside down in a matter of seconds. Sooo many questions will rush through your brain. And, if you think too much and get super scared, you might go crazy. Especially when the people there are discouraging you and not helping at all. Except for the knight ofc. Any more, and shed go crazy.

But anyways, I do hope the Author would put more of the princess's thoughts and how scared, confused, and full of guilt she is. Looking forward to the next chapter!! >3 Btw, all my speculations from the previous chapter are all wrong. That was very unexpected..."-_-

I mean you can either be ignorant+incompetent and relegated to the backseat of handling the country during an emergency, or you can be knowledgeable+prepared and be trusted to take on the responsibility of managing things. Even if MC's a princess she's no Marie Antoinette, she can't have her cake and eat it too. :p Like if you never learned to drive, fine, but don't take it personally when you find yourself in a car that's about to crash and nobody else lets you take the wheel, and are maybe acting a lil pissy about your inability to help 🙄 In my view ML's show of loyalty in this emergency situation just demonstrates a dogmatic insistence on obedience to absolute monarchy (or whatever royalty system they have going on here), and his stubborn defense of her a waste of precious time when the country is literally being destroyed by the demon king lmao. Who cares about whether or not a spoiled brat of a princess will retain her hold on power after an apocalyptic event, when nobody even knows whether the country will survive said apocalypse? Do you really need to be having this argument right now?

All told, looking forward to some much-needed character development from both of the leads!
