Did he really ask for that? Did he really request to be owned as if it was his ace?
He should have gone for a nice game of backgammon or something, where he'd have a chance.
Is he trying to prevent Kian from participating with the "must pledged to the lord" clause? Kian is her husband ofc he's going to be pledged to her....
@Isekailoverrr It mentioned that though he was knighted there the previous lord granted him his freedom, so released him from his vow of fealty. That is how he was able to go off and form a mercenary band and eventually in the future form his own kingdom. I'm sure there will use some other reason to get him in the fight but it wont because of a knightly vow of fealty to his lord.
@doomrabbit ohh, I don’t remember that. Oh well, if she proposed the duel and fully intended to not fight in it herself, they probably already made preparations for it like maybe getting married could have included Kian being totally sworn to her as her knight to keep her as the countess as well?
@kylie_aliah Based on the dialogue, the former wife was fully participating in the plot. They had a lawful divorce, but the ex-wife is actually waiting for the baron to fetch her back. Pretty safe to say she's wicked as well and deserves whatever befalls her. Interestingly enough, if the baron dies, the ex-wife might actually have some opportunities since she's with the baron's child. Though that would also depend on if the baron has brothers and such. They might get rid of the ex-wife along with the heir.
