It kinda bugs me that a CGDCT manga is doing one of the best and most realistic depictions of what slave labor looks like in media.
i mean making dolls doesn't seem as bad as like, being sent to the mines, not saying it's right to overwork/take advantage of them, but other than some one on one sessions every week with a counselor or so, i doubt (unless you're rich/well off or in the yakuza or so, if not solitary confinement) most prisoners wouldn't be allowed to just sleep in their room all day and laze around
wonder how much research the mangaka has done (if not a prisoner themselves but idk how many would get in that situation just to make a story), unless some things are just an 'open secret' or so)
wonder how long they'll stay in jail tho the author might 'end' it when they do get release. or do some one shot epilogue for each chara
hopefully things get better for the prison system overall , although i can imagine the author just extending the manga for longer (not that they're rly keeping close track of each day passing by) and making the MC do something that'd accidentally extend her sentenceIt isn't what the work is that's the problem, but the rewards and punishment mechanism attached to the "job". If you read the notes at the end of each chapter, the scope of the mangaka's research is actually quite clear. Also, each girl's sentencing length is already made clear in the first chapter. MC is only there for one year.
