So the blackmail threat is that she will use the picture to fake having a crush/obsession on the boy the heroine likes?.... Well I mean from a perception/flags perspective that will certainly make others who are aware of Hiyama's actual preferences believe more strongly that she and "Chad" are meant to be.... but it merely seems like it serves more as a psychological blow, demoralization factor/propaganda that further convince the heroine that Hiyama and "Chad" are meant to be and are the best suited for each other with the only barrier/obstacle to such a perfect union being that Hiyama's life goal is to be topped by the heroine.

I'm just waiting for the final reveal that the Male love interest was gay all along, driving FMC into utter despair and into the waiting arms of Hiyama.

Just as keikaku.

@Krune I believe Hiyama meant she was going to print pictures of Kimura rather than Mizushima and then post her all over her room. The thought of Hiyama doing that is embarrassing to her, hence why Kimura agreed to go along with her request.

@SJ7 Now imagine this with a male protagonist and throw this manga on anime feminist or ANN. Their butthurt from Darling in the Franxx will seem like a fairy tale to you.

Is it not possible that you people just enjoy a cute romcom like this without losing your mind?
Why are you comparing anime with manga, twitter shitstorms don't get caused by a manga. Twitter just cares about popular things, and it still has no real meaning.
Your argument is also inherently stupid, read any Shojo or Jose manga and you will learn that this chapter is mere child's play.

@karasong Ahaha, as if someone is denying that the girl-focused manga is full of romanticization of abuse and toxic crap in general. And just because things like Diabolic Lovers contain more outright shit doesn't make this manga less problematic.
Do not try to push the gate. These resources do manga reviews, not to mention the fact that no one bothers me talking about the theoretical adaptation of this work.
People can enjoy whatever shit they want, that's their business. But I hate it when they do this, while trying to be moralistic snowflakes and saying that things like another stupid ecchi harem or sexy comedy are sexist. I give you a 100% guarantee that if it were your typical mainstream straight, you would never see people rooting for abuser or called to enjoy it as a "cute romcom".

I don't understand how this is problematic in any way. Hiyama clarifies everything on the last page.
She is threatening her to use her picture as a screensaver, and to print it out as a poster for her room. Just weird, and in this context funny.
The joke is that Hiyama has no self-awareness about how threatening and terrifying she is from MCs point of view.
Which is literally a common trope for mangas and anime.
Ryūji Takasu from Toradora and Kodaka from Rinjin-bu have the same trope, they are guys who are viewed as dangerous. They are more or less self-aware but nevertheless get in situations where they accidentally rob someone for example. Kodaka gets a girls phone number in a situation very similar to this one. Nobody cares and this was an anime.

But I hate it when they do this, while trying to be moralistic snowflakes and saying that things like another stupid ecchi harem or sexy comedy are sexist
You are wasting your time caring about this stuff.

@karasong Ahaha, are you trying to compare a character who accidentally finds himself in a situation where he is considered dangerous and a character with actual toxic behavior? LOL. You are not even trying.

The problem is that people who justify this work will be the first to blame it for toxicity if Hayama were a man. And as you can see from the discussions, they are openly rooting for her and consider this behavior cute and funny. Regardless of the author’s intentions, people consider her the most charismatic character of the work and wish her success. Not to mention the fact that if they become a couple, this will literally be a message in support of such behavior.

I can not waste my time, given the mania of moralism in modern fandom. And this is especially dumb when people give lectures on morality and enjoy the “funny manga” about harassment at the same time.

Hiyama is literally a character who is first pictures as a maniac and on the last two pages her behaviour gets reviled as that of a dork. It's just fun. You take all of this way to serious.
I listed these examples because their actions are justified by the same reason: they don't know or are unable to understand how their behaviour is being observed by other people.

If this triggers you so badly I recommend you to never read any classic. Stick to modern North-American literature, the rest of the world does not care about your morals or your sociological consensus about what is allowed in art and what not.
