There could be some kind of serial killer version of Godai. Someone who's body hopping around in the past committing murders.

True, could even be his Boss.
Or since this is a horror setting, it's like that one movie with Denzel Washington, where a demon hops body to body to kill people.

I kinda expect this to be another case like the nurse, where the publically known killer isn't actually the culprit at all.
He might just have been the only person alive at the end, maybe even gone mad.
If the "meatball" really looked the same in both cases - the island, and MC family - that would imply the same killer. Two Killers doing the same weird thing is a bit unlikely.

could be a copy cat or a survivor from this event repeated it because the reasons for it arose again? I just want to hear an explanation for how this guy was apprehended the first time because normally folks like that don't get taken alive especially after a "kill" on an island where they have extreme home field advantage against any pursuing authorities. I think this arc may revisit what that other officer asked him in the first chapter and Godai may be placed in a situation where capturing this guy isn't going to be the easiest or most available option. Also Hidaki can so either go into the future or take things from it.
Also another lingering question... is the the range of Hidaki's power restricted only to Japan and the surrounding areas? Yes I know irl complications but still it would be an interesting situation to put Godai in.
