Question about manga info permissions

Hi,
My group 'The Art of Scanlation' has recently started on a new project 'Dragon and the Pheonix' https://mangadex.org/manga/29235/dragon-and-the-phoenix.
We created this manga entry in mangadex and have uploaded 4 chapters so far.
My question is this, is there any way to lock the information for the manga as someone keeps modifying the information and changing display pics ect.

@Xantherose You can DM a mod and request to have it locked since edit wars are against our rules.

4.6 Avoid edit wars. If another user edits a comic entry to something different from what you had previously edited and you disagree with their edit, do not change it back, but immediately notify a staff member.

What is being changed, and why should it not be?

Links are being added.
The main problem is the display picture for the series is being set back to the Chinese version instead of the English version.
This is all coming from unknown sources @lymus

What links are being added? the RAW link? how is it wrong, we have those field there for them to be added.

The Chinese cover that's being added is a higher quality one that the English one, we don't really have rules regarding language covers yet. Since we're not exclusively serving English readers a RAW cover might be the best choice, but in this case having only English scans there may be an argument for it.

The display picture has been resized to you recommend sizing (450x300).

The picture size is not a recommended one but a preferable minimum resolution. Higher is always better.

Ok then, I'll redo it the maximum allowable size. That's not a problem at all.
My next question is why are chapter edits locked but anyone can change the page settings? Does this mean whoever is doing this can change whatever they like on the page as they see fit?
We're not scanlating this from English to Chinese. We're doing this from Chinese to English, which means the title page should be in English, as there is currently no other languages present for this manga.

I agree with this to a certain point. This site is not exclusively English. Nor is it exclusively Chinese. So i don't understand why having the Chinese cover is better/more useful than the English version.
From what my group has seen so far, the English picture is not causing any problems, nor has anyone come to us with an issue about it.

If someone takes issue with it, then i have no problem discussing it with them. What i am taking issue with, is the fact that we work hard in our group to scanlate these projects at a high quality and someone feels they have the right to come along and change what they want as they see fit. Which i completely, and wholeheartedly disagree with, as it is disrespectful.

Only Contributors, Group Leader, Power Uploaders and Staff can edit manga pages.
And adding a missing link and adding a higher res. cover are both legitimate reason to edit the page.

They're not missing links. They are links being added. If we wanted the links there, we would have put them there, as it's our scanlation project page.

Please unlock the page as it has been locked with the incorrect title page and we want to change it to our title page which will be uploaded at the maximum/highest resolution this site allows. Please note, the original image we tried to upload was knocked back as it was too high in resolution and size, so we reduced it to your recommended size.

Once we have done this, we will notify you and you can relock the edit function again.

They're not missing links. They are links being added. If we wanted the links there, we would have put them there, as it's our scanlation project page.

I'm sorry but it is a manga page on our website. It's not up to you to decide what links do or do not belong there. I've a added your high rez cover to the page as a compromise. And to prevent further edits we'll keep it locked for now.

The information fields are there to be as informative as possible about the manga.

That being said, a valid link to the original authors work is a totally legitimate thing to be posted - irregardless of your personal feelings on the issue. People should be free to follow the link back to the original artist and give that person some appreciation.

That I can understand perfectly fine and we as a group, have no problem with linking original works as the authors and artists deserve the respect and support of readers, hence why we have a page inserted into all our projects that encourages people to support the authors and artists.
I don't understand why they put a link to a manga site.

My biggest problem with this is that, whoever this is, took it upon themselves to enter into an edit war which is against site rules.

When this first started, we made a post on the page stating that if anyone had any issues or wanted to contact us, they could via our discord and email etc.

This was ignored and the editing war began.
We immediately made this post and were told to contact a mod as edit wars are against the rules, which was highlighted in the customer relations post.

All we wanted was to know if the page could be locked as an unknown user was taking it upon themselves to change pictures etc, without contacting us and continuing to do so after we had made our post on the page asking them to please cease.

We were then told that the Chinese picture was better quality and not all readers read in English. The only reason the Chinese picture was better quality was because we uploaded ours to this site's recommended size format.
And to the argument that not all readers read in English so having the Chinese cover would be better, i found this a little silly as the manga is being scanlated in English and no other languages. If, in the future any other groups upload chapters in other languages, then we would of course, change it.

I don't understand why they put a link to a manga site.

It's a link to an official website that publishes the manhua online.
And one of the links we encourage to be filled. Since there the users can show appreciation to the authors if they want to, even if by only clicking on chapters to increase the view count.
